Big Elk Park by Macy Nebraska is a trail riders dream park. Quiet, off the beaten path with miles of trails along the Missouri River. You can ride right along the river itself or take trails up through the timber, climbing big hills and catching glimpses of wildlife and scenic views. The park is rather large with plenty of room for a number of rigs. Just a few electric spots, cabins available for rent, flush toilets and a shower.
We rode for several hours and found our way through the trails to be realatively easy. We didn't find any maps at the lodge, but some riders we met up with shared a primitive map and directions to water. Watering seems to be available at different spots along the river. Be careful not to go to far in as the river drops off quickly along the shoreline and is to murkey to see the bottom in most places! Currents are swift in the mighty Mo. so don't wander in or you might just drop off!

Will be going back soon to explore more trails and take in the natural beauty of this great park!
